What is being bought
The Chilbolton observatory operates a 25m diameter, prime focus, parabolic reflector antenna. This antenna is used as part of a satellite tracking radar which is undergoing a number of upgrades. As part of these upgrades the observatory have a requirement for four S-band receiver protectors with the capability to withstand moderate peak power and very long pulses commensurate with the operation of a high power TWT based transmitter.
