What is being bought
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) Science and Technology Facilities (STFC) had a requirement to provide a High Flux CdZnTe (CZT) with a pixel pitch of 0.25mm and specific dimensions of 20.35x20.45mm so that the devices can be tiled and assembled in a 2x6 HEXITEC Camera. Due to compatibility with the software and firmware it is proposed that the original supplier is commissioned to undertake this work.

Procedure rationaleThis contract was awarded in accordance with regulation 32 (2) (b) (ii). There is a contract between STFC and Manchester where we are delivering the same detector and have to support this in the future with spare parts. The spare parts need to be compatible with Manchester/CLF' sortware and nobody else has the designs and know-how to make the spare parts.
