NRS Ltd. is responsible for the safe and compliant decommissioning of Trawsfynydd Nuclear Power Station in Gwynedd, North Wales. Built in the early 1960’s, the Site ceased generating electricity in 1991 and has been undertaking decommissioning works since. <br/>The next phase of the decommissioning programme will principally feature modification of the two former civil nuclear Reactor Buildings which, in current state, offer safe and secure storage of housed plant. The project will involve the systematic deconstruction and partial demolition of each Reactor Building, delivering a reduced height configuration compliant with existing planning commitments and lessening the visual impact on the landscape. In addition, a package of civil new build and remedial works will be delivered to prolong the durability of the retained structures and reduce disproportionate asset management liability. The end product will offer compliant protection of the stored inventory, ready for successor phases of decommissioning activity on the Site.

Companies are invited to register for the webinar through the Atamis Message Centre confirming the names of proposed attendees. Registration closes at midday on 15 December 2022.<br/><br/>The Key outcomes from this preliminary market engagement are: <br/>1. Understand whether the market can deliver the scope of works<br/>2. Understand level of supplier interest in tendering for the works <br/>3. Information on how the suppliers can contribute to Social Value<br/><br/>Attendance at the supply chain engagement webinar is not a pre-requisite for being able to submit a tender against any subsequent procurements in relation to this preliminary market engagement. If you are unable to attend the preliminary market engagement webinar, the information pack, along with slides and Q&A will be made available. To facilitate further supply chain engagement, Magnox will also share a list of all those companies that attended the webinar after the event. <br/><br/>Please note that this Notice and the market engagement webinar are in advance of the main competition Contract Notice when the ITT documentation will be made available. There are no ITT documents available with this PIN and suppliers do not need to complete a Selection Questionnaire. Magnox is however looking for feedback from potential suppliers on the event. <br/><br/>Any information gathered through this market consultation exercise may inform internal business planning and any possible subsequent procurement process and will NOT be appraised in any future tender evaluation exercise. Interested parties who choose to participate in the preliminary market consultation do so at their own cost and expense. Magnox shall not be liable for any such costs or expenses under any circumstances.
