What is being bought
The project is for the provision of a new build facility that, on completion, will facilitate delivery of a fully compliant educational curriculum for 820nr pupils of post-primary school age in the area currently served by Abbey Community College, located at the old Monkstown site on Bridge Road, Newtownabbey. The proposed building will be constructed on a site which comprises two separate parcels of land, located on the corner Doagh Road and Bridge Road and divided by the latter. The proposed building is of generally two storey construction with single storey elements and extends to approximately 11,650sqm GIFA. In addition to the school building, the site will be developed to include a new entrance, drop off area and parking provision together with new sports pitches. Additional sports pitches and ballcourts will be constructed on the parcel of land located opposite Bridge Road and linked to the Doagh Road site by an existing pedestrian underpass.
