Published requirement description

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) will be extending the current contract with Symology, and upgrading to Aurora which will provide a solution for the planning, management and coordination of Streetworks activities between NGN and key stakeholders (Highways Authorities (HA's) ). This allows NGN to notify the HA's of our intention to work, apply for a permit/lane rental to work and then manage that permit throughout the lifecycle of the works until final completion and reinstatement.

Why no open competition: The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator due to absence of competition for technical reasons
Published justification: The system is already integrated within NGN and changing supplier would incur significant risk to NGN to what is an essential and legal requirement ie NGN must have suitable systems in place to manage Streetworks with local Highway Authorities.
