Coverage: 182 active published awards; 175 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Procedure rationaleA direct award through a framework was undertaken as UKAEA believed this would be the most appropriate way to gain value for money. The contractor has become a strategic part of key decision making in commercial areas and has built up a large level of knowledge. By awarding the contract to the same supplier, UKAEA is able to retain knowledge gained, further develop existing relationships between the bidder and Authority and not have to move through a transitional period for a prospective new supplier which would delay UKAEA operations. |
