What is being bought

Published requirement description

UKNNL are seeking expressions of interest from suppliers capable of providing a split butterfly valve system suitable for powder handling and transfer operations.

Minimum Technical Requirements

• Be suitable for the transfer of powders and quick-connect/disconnect operations.

• Accommodate connections in the region of:

-100 mm to 50 mm diameter, or

-100 mm to 80 mm diameter to minimise the potential for product blockage.

• Be compatible with hydrofluoric acid (HF Resistant) at concentrations of approximately 25-50% by mass.

• Be suitable for operating temperatures up to approximately 300°C.

• Be suitable for operating pressures from full vacuum to approximately 3 barg.

Additional Information

• An integrated vacuum system for removal of powder from between split butterfly valve faces is not required.

• Alternative materials of construction may be considered such as stainless steel.

• Particular attention should be given to the suitability and chemical resistance of sealing materials for hydrofluoric acid service.

• Sealing materials must be suitable for hydrofluoric acid (HF) at the specified process concentrations.
