Coverage: 3 active published awards; 3 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

Procedure rationaleSellafield Ltd is responsible for the safe storage and management of nuclear waste. The Box Encapsulation Plant receives waste packages and conditions these for longer term storage. Robotics are utilised to support the delivery of the operations in the Boc Encapsulation Plant in order to minimise human exposure to radiological risk. Kuka are discontinuing the model of robot utilised in the Box Encapsulation Plant. As the model forms part of a functional integrated system, additional supplies of the robots are being procured to provide resilience to the ongoing operation of the Box Encapsulation Plant. As Kuka hold the intellectual property for the robots this award is made pursuant to Regulation 32(2)(b)(ii) and Regulation 32(2)(b)(iii). |
