The supplier is the OEM (BREL) of the Cl.165 and 168 DMU fleets operated and maintianed by Chiltern Railways.
As the OEM, the supplier is the design authority for the rolling stock and retains the IPR for the materials that make are covered by this contract, along with a float of spare materials where materials are repairable and in most cases no longer available to procure new.
- Risks
The materials may become obsolete or superseeded causing a change to the specifications. If this risk materialises then a modification to the specifications will be required to either remove or add the superseeded or revised materials to the contract.
