River Bank Primary School is a primary school located on Bath Road, Luton, Bedfordshire,LU3 1ES with capacity for 840 pupils.The proposed contract will be for the outsourcedprovision of catering services to the Client. It is the Client’s expectation that the SuccessfulBidder shall be responsible for the operation of the catering function including employmentand management of staff, supply of foodstuffs, consumables and light equipment andpreparing and serving appropriate meals. The Client will retain responsibility for payment ofutilities and the operation and maintenance of core catering equipment and facilities. TheSuccessful bidder will provide a range of good quality, nutritious, attractively presentedmeals for pupils and staff, that comply with Government’s minimum nutritional and foodbased standards for the educational sector. Meals should reflect growth in healthy eatingtrends, promote uptake, and comply with the new Ofsted guidance for catering.TheSuccessful Bidder shall establish effective management and operational levelcommunication systems at all levels regarding the catering service with customers thatinclude; School management, parents, and pupils. In addition, the Successful Bidder willalso be responsible for all legal and health and safety & food safety requirements indelivering the catering services. The financial model required for this contract shall be a CostPlus model, as set out within the ITT and contract Terms and Conditions. Some catering staffare on Local Government Pension Schemes.
