Swindon Borough Council invites you to contribute to preliminary market engagement in relation to the provision of the removal and installation of current and new street light columns and associated groundworks and electrical connections and disconnections, yearly clean and electrical testing, night patrol and Ad-Hoc repairs. The Council would therefore welcome the views of suppliers on the questions in the questionnaire. Responses to this questionnaire will be used solely for this pre-tender exercise and any responses will not be referred to during the tender evaluation. To this end, tender-style responses to this questionnaire are not necessary - the intention is to invite supplier feedback on the options, to help shape the final specification and commercial model to ensure the tender delivers the optimum outcomes for the Council.

Commercial outcome & contract awards
Published awards, contracts and bid statistics, not a forecast| Awarded to | Value | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| supplier not published | — | 24 Apr 2026 | CancelledWithin the specification, it had not been stated that the amount of work that would be called-off under this contract was to be split between the Council’s in-house resourcing and external supply provision. This directly affected the pricing schedule as it reflected the total annual estimated activities; the pricing schedule should have been based on the actual percentage of external delivery of services that the Council anticipated would be carried out by a supplier. Due to this, the Council has concluded that the current process could not be lawfully concluded and, for the reasons stated above, will be abandoning this procurement process. |
