Published requirement descriptionRemoval and fitment services for windscreens on Class 68 and 88 Locomotives during a four (4) year contract term.
DRS does not consider itself bound by the Procurement Act 2023 (PA23) and associated procurement legislation (together the “UK procurement legislation”) as they apply to a regulated below-threshold procurement, on the basis that, operating commercially, it is not a public authority, nor does it carry out any utility activities. Accordingly, this Procurement is not, and does not purport to be, subject to UK procurement legislation. For the avoidance of doubt, Tenderers are put on notice that the publication of this document and any other document that relates to this Procurement (including the relevant tender notice) is published voluntarily and nothing in this document, or any other document that DRS publishes in relation to this Procurement, should be construed as purporting to give rise to rights or obligations under UK procurement legislation. That said, DRS intends to operate a fair and transparent process.

- TECH02: Provide your work instruction or method statement for the removal and refitment of windscreens on locomotives with the same or similar windscreen types to Classes 68 and 88.
- COMO1: Please provide a fixed, all‑inclusive price for the removal and replacement of one windscreen on a Class 68 locomotive, delivered at Crewe TMD during weekday daytime hours (Monday–Friday).
- COM02: Please provide a fixed, all‑inclusive price for the removal and replacement of one windscreen on a Class 88 locomotive, delivered at Crewe TMD on an out‑of‑hours basis (evenings, nights, or weekends).
- TECH01: Please provide evidence of training, competence, and qualifications to demonstrate your organisation’s ability to safely and compliantly deliver windscreen removal and fitment on locomotives
- TECH03: What windscreen adhesive make(s) and type(s) do you have experience using for locomotives?
- Price carries 40 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 4 points. The method statement decides this lot, not the discount.
