Procedure rationaleA review of the market was undertaken through the NHS Supply Chain Rigid Endoscopy and Associated Options and Related Services Framework (Ref: 2021/S 000-007768). Whilst alternative nasendoscopes are available within the market, these products were not considered suitable because their use could invalidate existing equipment warranties and compromise the integrity, functionality and operability of the current camera stack systems. The procurement of alternative equipment would therefore require replacement of the existing stack and associated specialist scopes in order to achieve technical compatibility.
