Procedure rationaleThe Covid-19 pandemic has caused an unprecedented demand for emergency/ temporary accommodation that has forced the Council to use very expensive bed and breakfast and nightly booked accommodation. This has resulted in a sharp increase in spending that requires a quick response to secure accommodation at lower cost. If the Council is unable to acquire accommodation quickly this could result in the Council coming into financial difficulties.
