Provision of Geological Products Framework

To establish a new national framework for the Provision of Geological Products for an estimated four-year term from 1 March 2027 to 31 March 2031, with an estimated maximum value of £5.9 million.

The proposed approach is to undertake market engagement before confirming the final procurement route, specification, commercial model and supplier list. This will ensure the Environment Agency can test current market capability, support competition where available, and maintain a compliant and efficient route for geological products and services.

The existing framework, approved for a total value of £4.9 million is due to expire on 19 February 2027. This Framework has demonstrated clear and ongoing value to the Environment Agency by providing an efficient, compliant mechanism for accessing specialist geological services. Prior to the establishment of this framework, the Environment Agency regularly had to rely on repeated single tender actions for BGS services, which was inefficient and resource intensive. The framework has significantly improved efficiency by removing the need to raise individual Form Cs for each requirement.
