- Why no open competition
- Single Suppliers Technical Reasons
- Published justification
- The Operational Plants Reliability Engineering Teams and Operational Technology Group are experiencing increasing challenges in recovering systems and equipment due to severe obsolescence and the limited availability of specialist repair providers. Like Technologies has demonstrated a proven capability over the last 12 months through a previous contract, successfully repairing equipment that could not otherwise be recovered and extending the life of critical assets. Demand for their services is increasing across site as spare stocks continue to diminish and original equipment manufacturer support and capability to repair obsolete equipment declines. Like Technologies has established a strong track record providing innovative and reliable repair solutions. Existing suppliers can only support a limited range of Operational Technology equipment, in contrast, Like Technologies possesses the specialist expertise required to support a wider range of obsolete industrial and electronic instrumentation. Several Operational Plants have been unable to repair critical electronic instrumentation through other routes and have requested Operational Technology Group support to facilitate investigations and repairs through Like Technologies. Their niche expertise in repairing obsolete equipment and developing effective alternative solutions makes them uniquely positioned to meet this growing business need. The above is in accordance with PA23 Schedule 5, Paragraph 6.
