Coverage: 83 active published awards; 61 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
The Welsh Government has set local authorities statutory targets of recycling 58 per cent by 2016-17, 64 per cent by 2019-20 and 70 per cent of waste by 2024-25. The Council is encouraged to divert waste away from landfill so that it can be reused or recovered.
It is anticipated that approximately 40 tonnes of commercial waste will be available per week for the first 12 months of the contract, however the Authority cannot guarantee that these volumes will not be reduced or be in excess of these anticipated amounts. During busy periods such as Christmas and New Year these volumes will be exceeded and bidders are invited to submit a rate for tonnage in excess of 100 tonnes a week.
