What is being bought
This procurement will be conducted under the open procedure as an open framework, the term of the first framework in this scheme will be 2 years with the option to extend by 12 months. The scope of Independent Living is broken down into the following lots: Lot 1 Equipment, including living room aids, mobility aids, bedroom and dressing aids, kitchen aids, bathroom aids and pressure and positioning aids. Lot 2 Community Loan Store Managed Services provides various types of equipment on loan to individuals who need assistance to live independently at home. Lot 3 Aggregate lot, facilitates the provision to permit Participating Authorities to tailor bespoke products and service specification to accommodate their requirements and contractually commit in advance to purchasing a specified value and/or volume of their requirements. Lot A Technology Enable Care – this lot is specifically for use by non-NHS organisations only. Lot A is for the use of technology to provide health and care services to people in their own homes to live independently and safely.

    HealthTrust Europe conducted engagement through virtual and in-person meetings and discussions with potential suppliers who were able to provide products and services detailed in the scope of the procurement, which includes equipment, aids and adaptations designed to make everyday activities easier and safer, community loan store managed services includes helping people stay independent at home and reduce the need for hospital or care home admissions and aid prompt discharge of patients and technology enabled care devices, services and software for Participating Authority and individuals who could be vulnerable at home. This engagement exercise aimed to establish: - Specification development and understanding of solutions available in the market - Identify all potential suppliers for this requirement (including VCSEs and SMEs) and provide the opportunity to be awarded to the framework - Understanding the commercial structure that aligns to market expectations and will meet the requirements of any Contracting Authorities - Notifying the market and building capacity to prepare for the procurement and contract award.
