Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) for new hospital - Request for information

The Contractor for the new Monklands Hospital (under separate procurement) will be required to provide and install a Pneumatic Tube System (PTS) as part of the project. The PTS will be used to transport pods containing materials, goods, samples to various wards and departments within the hospital via a tube system infrastructure. In order for NHS Lanarkshire to provide a specification to the contractor for the PTS, NHS Lanarkshire would like to have dialogue with the market to understand what is available. In particular, NHS Lanarkshire is interested in the ability to send and receive hard copy mail (standard letters/A4 letters) across the facility to designated stations as standard: We would like to understand the if there is scope to enhance the use of the traditional POD system. Additional information: NHS Lanarkshire will not be procuring these items or the service. The purpose of this PIN is to invite dialogue with providers of PTS systems in order to understand what is available in the market. Although a date for the publication of a contract notice is required for this PIN, the date reflects the possible date of the contractor’s need to approach the market for this procurement.
