The University requires a framework of professional photographers to deliver exceptional imagery to appropriately represent the University in the increasingly competitive HE (Higher Education) market. All photography taken on behalf of the University must adhere to the University brand. Information on the University's brand guidelines can be found at File 4 Appendix 1 - UoS Brand Imagery, further information can be provided upon appointment. Imagery is a key part of our brand. For the University to ensure high-quality photographs to support print and digital materials we require professional photographers to showcase the University through selling university life, world-leading teaching and research and compelling profiles of staff, students, alumni and facilities. The supplier is required to capture imagery to work across multiple platforms, they will need to be aware of the different specific shot styles. This can include shooting: - images in landscape and portrait - the same image multiple times in different angles -the same set up with different models The commissioner will be on location to guide these decisions, but the photographer will need to be experienced to execute these styles, advise and think creatively. The framework of suppliers will provide services across the whole University including other professional services, academic units, research centres and arts venues. All photography taken on behalf of the University must adhere to the University brand guidelines as well as considerations around campaign and channel requirements. All work supplied to the University must be subject to quality control processes by the commissioned supplier before it is supplied.

Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 79. The category anchor is Photographic services (79961000); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.
| Comparison set | Procedures | Reported bids per procedure | Named award suppliers | Price evidence |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Market: CPV division 79 | 13,741 | 4 median · 30.9 average (5,803 of 13,741 with a bid count) | 3.2 average (6,508 of 13,741 with named award suppliers) | 1 comparable price pairs |
| Same buyer | 3 | 3 median · 3 average (2 of 3 with a bid count) | 1 average (2 of 3 with named award suppliers) | Not published |
| Delivery region: UKJ3 | 45 | 3.5 median · 14.7 average (22 of 45 with a bid count) | 2 average (23 of 45 with named award suppliers) | Not published |
“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.
Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.
No planning milestones published.
No linked framework, prior procurement or reprocurement published.
No documents are published in the current source record.
Diagnostic view. “Not published” means this current release does not provide a value.

All photography taken on behalf of the University must adhere to the University brand. \nImagery is a key part of our brand. For the University to ensure high-quality photographs to support print and digital materials we require professional photographers to showcase the University through selling university life, world-leading teaching and research and compelling profiles of staff, students, alumni and facilities.\nThe successful supplier(s) are required to capture imagery to work across multiple platforms, they will need to be aware of the different specific shot styles. This can include shooting:\n- images in landscape and portrait\n- the same image multiple times in different angles\n-the same set up with different models\nThe commissioner will be on location to guide these decisions, but the photographer will need to be experienced to execute these styles, advise and think creatively.\nThis project is to procure a framework of Suppliers under 2 lots - Lot 1 (Large Photography Jobs/High-end Photography) and Lot 2 (Small Photography Jobs/Quick Turn Around Projects).\nThe framework of suppliers will provide services across the whole University including other professional services, academic units, research centers and arts venues. All photography taken on behalf of the University must adhere to the University brand guidelines as well as considerations around campaign and channel requirements. All work supplied to the University must be subject to quality control processes by the commissioned supplier before it is supplied.\nPlease note, the University of Southampton no longer meets the criteria of a 'body governed by public law' and is therefore not considered a contracting authority for the purposes of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 and/or any replacement legislation. This procurement process is not regulated by UK (or EU) public procurement law.\nWhere the University of Southampton advertises contracts, through any public sector portal, it does so on a voluntary basis by way of transparency and to encourage open competition, but it is not required to comply with the procurement legislation.
