    To provide staff who are appropriately trained including but not limited to:<br/>Proactive de-escalation/distraction and physical interventions, including clinical holding to support a patient with specialist/complex needs to meet physical health needs, this may include those with Eating Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Autism, Mental Illness and/or patients who present with behaviours of concern that include sexual disinhibition, or may be distressed when receiving care which may result in presentation of physical and or verbal aggression. This training MUST include Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Interventions.<br/>The supplier ideally should provide evidence that this training adheres to the Restraint Reduction Network National Training Standards and training provider is BiLD Certified.<br/>Other possible standards / Training required:<br/>Physical interventions, clinical holding and restraint<br/>Safeguarding Adults and Children Level 2.<br/>Mental Capacity Act & DoLS.<br/>Mental Health Act.<br/>Staff provided need to be confident, resourceful and able to identify proactive interventions so as to avoid the need for physical interventions, so far as possible, in keeping with least restrictive practice.<br/>Utilise DBTH’s Therapeutic, Supportive Observation and Engagement Policy and support the development and implementation of appropriate therapeutic care plan with the patient.<br/>To ensure contemporaneous record keeping relating to the episode of care including recording actions/interventions, Behaviour Chart, ABC Chart and Care Plan Continuation Record.<br/>Monitor for and report any effects of psychiatric medications, both desired effect and side effect, including in relation to rapid tranquillisation for highly disturbed behaviour.<br/>Receive and provide accurate handover of information.<br/>To liaise with Ward Staff re: any change in mental health risk presentation and ensure that the Ward Registered Nurse/NiC and any incoming colleagues are aware/updated, before leaving ward area.<br/><br/>PIN PROPOSAL<br/>The purpose of this PIN is to encourage any organisation interested in providing this type of service to engage with the Trust and suggest options available for the delivery of the service.<br/>In order for the Trust to develop its strategy we also required that you provide the following information on a word document proposal by 5pm on Monday 30th June 2025 via the e-tendering portal.<br/>• Level of Support you can provide<br/>• Level Supervision and training you can provide<br/>• Adherence to the training / standards stated above, and any other suitable<br/>• Availability and how availability works with short notice requests<br/>• Indicative cost per hour (for benchmarking and business case purposes only this is not a tender at this stage)<br/>• Case studies as to where you have deployed these services before.
