What is being bought

Published requirement description

As an Operator of Essential Services (OES), Wales & West Utilities (WWU) is required to comply with the requirements of the NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF). This includes maintaining high visibility and awareness of the operational technology assets present throughout our network, the communication paths between them, and having the ability to quickly detect changes and potential vulnerabilities in this environment. With this in mind, WWU wishes to procure OT asset discovery technology that will enable better automation and insight into its OT asset estate.

Why no open competition: Extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable for the contracting authority/entity and in accordance with the strict conditions stated in the directive
Published justification: WWU are required to meet the CAF Basic Profile by December 2023 and delivery of this tool is part of our strategy to deliver this CAF objective. Due to this regulatory requirement, and tight timeframe, it did allow for a thorough process to be run.
