"description": "The specifications of this requirement have been outlined in the description below. \nThe bidder must be able to comply with the apprentice standards and must meet the qualifications for the HNC Engineering Course. \nIt is to be expected that the trainer will develop and deliver the training curriculum that supports the development of SQEP trainees within Engineering. The course should provide both on the job training and classroom-based learning, with a variation of classroom, online or workshop settings. The course should provide the apprentices with a Level 4 Qualification after successful completion of the course. \nThe training facilities must be accessible for the attendance of the apprentices with the majority of Apprentices being within the Southwest Region. "description": "There is a requirement to provide a Level 4 HNC Marine Engineering course to internally identified high achieving apprentices enrolled within the Level 3 Waterfront Apprentice Scheme. This will allow HNC delivery to be incorporated during phase two and three of the Level 3 Waterfront Apprenticeship scheme improving the engineering competence of identified individuals that graduate from the scheme so that when they enter the business permanently, their advanced capability will become of benefit from day one. \nThe requirement also provides a defined route for ‘high potential’ individuals to progress onto Level 4 qualifications during their apprenticeship or immediately after their apprenticeship has successfully been concluded leading to increased attraction in the Apprenticeship Scheme.\nThe number of individuals undertaking the HNC is expected to vary each year, with a maximum number from September 2025 being 30. The HNC will be accessible to high achievers with a desire to complete the HNC during their Waterfront Apprenticeship scheme.",

"description": "There is a continuing demand to provide engineering apprentices to SDA’s engineering function through the continuation of bespoke SDA apprenticeship schemes, which are necessary to support the Engineering strategy.\nThe Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship has a duration of up to 4 years, spanning 5 financial years for each intake. The apprentices’ first year shall be spent full-time at college (with workshop type training) and years 2 to 4 as a mixture of further academic study and work placements within SDA project teams. This will result in both technical and academic qualification (ultimately a bachelor's degree) together with workplace experience providing a beneficial mix of technical knowledge, and broader Success Profile development. Scheme provision is for up to 30 apprentices per each academic year (for 3 years). \nThe scheme has (and intends to continue to do so) exploited the Apprentice Levy which provides a significant amount of the training cost of the scheme. "description": "This Prior Information Notice (PIN) is to advise industry of the intent for the Submarine Delivery Agency (SDA), as part of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) to publish a contract notice for the potential procurement of a facility enabling Apprenticeship and Graduate to allow students to enrol onto one of the following three courses as part of the Waterfront and Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship Schemes.\n\tSDA Level 3 Waterfront Apprenticeship Scheme Training Provision\n\tSDA Level 4 Higher National Certificate (HNC) Marine Engineering Course (too meet qualifications set out in Level 3)\n\tSDA Level 6 Nuclear Degree Apprentice Training Provision\nRelease of the contract notice is intended to be published in Dec 2024, with the indicative contract award timeframe estimated to commence Feb/Mar 2025. Ideally, the authority would wish for all courses to be run from one facility. Should this not prove feasible then the alternative approach would be for the Lv3 & Lv6 courses to be run with one institution at a separate facility and the HNC at a separate facility. This may result in two separate suppliers being chosen. \nNote: All face-to-face aspects of the Scheme are to be delivered within the Southwest of the UK area and make provision for student accommodation easily accessible to the training facilities. This would be funded as a separate charge to the trainees on an individual basis. Based on this requirement, the bidder will be required to accommodate training within a specified radius of Bristol (to be defined). \nCourses must comply with the following approved standards; - \n\tEngineering Technician Standard ST1395 (Level 3)\n\tST0289 Nuclear Scientist and Engineer (Level 6)\n\tPerforming Engineering Operations (PEO) must also to be included within the syllabus content, as per recent changes to the course standards.\nBy issuing this PIN and engaging with the market, neither SDA nor MoD are committing to carry out any procurement in relation to the information stated in this PIN. Approvals and funding are yet to be finalised. \nAdditional Information\n1. The Waterfront Apprenticeship Scheme has a planned duration of up to 3 years, spanning 4 financial years for each intake. For all apprentices, the first year shall be spent full-time at college (with workshop type training) and in years 2 to 3 through a mixture of further academic study and work placements within SDA project teams. This will result in achievement of technical, academic and vocational qualifications alongside workplace experience providing a beneficial mix of technical knowledge, and broader Success Profile development. \nScheme provision is for up to 30 apprentices per each academic year (for 3 years). \n2. The Nuclear Degree Apprenticeship has a duration of up to 4 years, spanning 5 financial years for each intake. \nScheme provision is for up to 30 apprentices per each academic year (for 3 years).\n3. The number of individuals undertaking the HNC is expected to vary each year, with a maximum number from September 2025 being 30. The HNC will be accessible to high achievers with a desire to complete the HNC during their Waterfront Apprenticeship scheme.",
