The contract will cover haematology, biochemistry, immunoassay and coagulation analysers with associated sample processing. Additional information: Barking, Havering & Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust currently has a 7+7 year contract with Sysmex UK Ltd for Pathology Blood Sciences Services that commenced on 1st of January 2019 (7 years from when the last laboratory equipment was installed). The contract affords a unilateral discretion for the Trust to enter in to a further 7 year term which was provided for in the original procurement. The Trust is waiving its right to exercise a unilateral clause within the contract and instead enter in to a bi-lateral agreement to extend the contract for a maximum of 7 years but on the basis of an initial 3 year extension with a break clause allowing for a maximum of 4 further annual extensions ( To a maximum 7 year extension).The contract extension will encompass the continued provision of comprehensive blood sciences services and complies with the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, section 72. (1) (a).<br/><br/>This extension is critical to supporting pathways, ensuring diagnostic accuracy and achieving the NHS England Plan and the North East London regional vision for Pathology.<br/><br/>This extension allows flexibility and strategic alignment should Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) and other Pathology providers within North East London decide to transition to a formal networked solution of joint consolidation and transformation.<br/><br/>At present BHRUT Pathology are not formally part of a Pathology networked solution, although the Boards of BHRUT, Barts Health NHS Trust, Homerton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust and North East London Integrated Care Board (NEL ICB) have approved a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to agree closer working between the East and South East London Pathology Partnership (ESEL) and BHRUT.Contract periodNot publishedEligibilityNot publishedOptions / renewalNot published
