Why no open competition: The procurement falls outside the scope of application of the directive
Published justification: Due to the specialist nature of this equipment, it can only be maintained by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) The Trust are therefore seeking to award this contract to Varian who are the OEM.

Review procedure: NHS Wales Shared Services Partnership on behalf of Velindre NHS Trust will allow a minimum 10 calendar day standstill period between notifying the award decision and awarding the contract.
