Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA) Awards Programme for non-medical healthcare professionals across London

Health Education England (HEE - the Commissioner) are issuing this Prior Information Notice to make the market aware of a future tendering opportunity. HEE previously issued a notice regarding the same project with the intention to commence the tender exercise in January 2021 – due to the current pandemic and the strain this has placed on a number of organisations, especially those within London, a decision has been made to stall this procurement and instead this will now commence in mid March. HEE currently commissions Internship and Pre-Doctoral bridging programme training places from two London-based HEIs and Post-Doctoral bridging places from a third London-based HEI. Health Education England intends to commence a new procurement in March 2021 for the delivery of an Integrated Clinical Academic (ICA) Awards programme (to include three lots for Internships, Pre-Doctoral and Post-Doctoral Bridging Programmes) for healthcare professionals (excluding doctors and dentists) who wish to develop careers that combine clinical research, research leadership with continued clinical practice and clinical development. It is intended to procure an integrated suite of internship, pre-doctoral and post-doctoral bridging fellowship places for an initial period of three academic years. The tender response window will run from mid March to the end of April 2021. Contracts will be awarded in July 2021 for commencement of services in late 2021.
