SFRS was required to abandon a tender exercise for Insurance and Claims Handling Service in March 2018 as a result of receiving no valid tender submissions from the bids submitted. As a result it has been necessary to extend current arrangements with the existing service provider for a period not exceeding 12 months to ensure that SFRS has the proper insurance and claims handling service provision in place. During this 12 month period SFRS will undertake a new procurement process leading to the award of a new contract provision from 1 April 2019

Review procedure: SFRS will incorporate a standstill period at the point information on the proposed award of the contract is published in the OJEU.
The standstill period, which will be for a minimum of 10 calendar days, provides time for suppliers to challenge the proposed award decision before the contract is entered into.
The applicable regulations provide for aggrieved parties who have been harmed or are at risk of harm by a breach of the rules to take action in Sheriff Court or Court of Session within 30 days of knowledge or constructive knowledge of breach.”
