SBUHB require support from an Independent Provider to be able to deliver a specialist Breast Radiology Service.

The requirement is for a specialist Breast Radiologist to carry out approximately 25.5 hours per week for up to 5 months providing the following services:

One-Stop Breast Clinic (4 Clinics per Week, seeing 12 patients per Clinic)

Mammography Reporting

CT Reporting

MDT Preparations and Presentation

Why no open competition: Extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable for the contracting authority/entity and in accordance with the strict conditions stated in the directive
Published justification: Due to a national shortage of consultant radiologist SBUHB are unable to satisfy the current level of required services which poses high risk to patient safety and health.
