Coverage: 182 active published awards; 175 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
UKAEA manages the Joint European Torus (JET) on behalf of the European Commission, as a result of which, as well as associated experiments, radioactive waste is generated. In addition, there are other research facilities on the UKAEA Culham site which generate small amounts of radioactive waste relating to materials testing or wider fusion energy research. Some of this waste has higher potential for contamination from activation products.
Waste to be included in this incineration contract will be soft combustible material, hard plastic materials and wood packaged primarily into steel 200ltr drums or fiber kegs. Aqueous & organic waste contained within plastic packages of varying volume (20L up to 1000L IBC) which may sometimes be over-drummed to facilitate transport. Some of the wastes (primarily liquids) are classified as dangerous goods for transportation.
