The service will respond to the needs of and support service users to whom the Local Authority have agreed to accommodate on a temporary basis. BCBC alongside Welsh Government recognise that as per Part 2 of The Homelessness (Suitability of Accommodation) (Wales) Order 2015 accommodating vulnerable homeless persons in Bed & Breakfast accommodation (B&B) is not suitable to meet the needs of homeless service users. This service will assist the Local Authority to reduce its usage of B&B as much as possible, with the ultimate aim of completely eradicating the use of B&B as temporary accommodation to homeless persons. Provision will assist the Council in fulfilling its duties under The Housing (Wales) Act 2014, Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014 and Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015. The contract period is for 3 years, commencing on 1st July 2022 with the option to extend for up to 36 months.
