What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionSupply of school transport services for the 2025-26 academic year to transport 368 students from the Chester/ Ellesmere Port, Wirral area to Calday Grange Grammar School (CH48 8GG) and West Kirby Grammar School (CH48 5DP).
The service is required from 02/09/2025 until 17/07/2026 during term time only and will not be required on INSET days and bank holidays.
The School collects payments for bus passes and pays for the service, therefore fares are not required to be collected.
Bus routes are already established and the current timetable will be provided. Suppliers can put forward proposed routes, bus stops, number of vehicles. Consideration should be given to suitable vehicles for route conditions and access limitations (narrow lanes, bridges etc.). Suppliers can quote for a single service, multiple services or the whole service.
Buses must be under 15 years old and be fitted with seatbelts.
- No preliminary market engagement: Due to urgency on contract required, local suppliers have been contacted for preliminary engagement.

- Price: Price of the service on a per bus per day rate basis.
- Quality: Details, specification and age of all vehicles to be used to provide the Services; Information about the flexibility of your additional fleet of vehicles that may be available to deliver the Services, should this be required to manage changes in student numbers i.e. confirmation that other vehicles that may be used to deliver the Services are subject to the same Health & Safety requirements and contain the same features such as seat belts; Confirmation that seat belts are fitted on all vehicles that they propose to use to deliver the Services; Copies of the Tenderers Health & Safety policy and compliance documentation; Copies of the Tenderers policy for ensuring that all drivers are subject to an Enhanced DBS check; Copies of the Tenderers policy for Driver's Use of Mobile Phones.
- Price carries 80 of 100 points: a 10% discount moves about 8 points. This one is won on the number: sharpen the price before polishing the prose.
