Published requirement descriptionSurrey County Council is seeking a provider to deliver assessment, mobility, habilitation and independent living skills support for children and young people aged 0-19 years with vision impairment, including those with multi-sensory impairment (MSI) or who are deafblind. The service will promote independence, confidence, inclusion and wellbeing, enabling children and young people to develop the skills they need to participate fully in education, family life and their local communities.
Currently there are approximately 590 C&YP open to PSS (VI). We expect the provider to annually work with a maximum of 120 children and young people for the life of this contract April 2027-March 2032.

Surrey County Council is planning to recommission Sensory Services for Children and Young People in accordance with the Procurement Act 2023. As part of the pre-procurement engagement process, we would like to invite current and prospective providers to participate in a virtual market engagement more…
event. The purpose of the event is to: • Provide an overview of the current service and Surrey County Council's future commissioning intentions. • Provide information and signpost suppliers to resources relating to the Procurement Act 2023 and its implications for bidders. • Outline key policy requirements that will apply during the procurement process, including Social Value, Sustainability and Modern Slavery. • Seek feedback from the market on the proposed commissioning approach and future service delivery model. • Provide an opportunity for suppliers to ask questions and engage in discussion with the Council. The event will be held on 16th October 2026. This event will be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams.
