Engagement process description
TfL invites suppliers to participate in this Preliminary Market Engagement exercise by completing a Market Sounding Questionnaire (MSQ).
All feedback received will be treated confidentially and will help to shape the upcoming procurement opportunity (subject to the Freedom of Information Act).
Information on the engagement process and the procurement can be found in MSQ documents which will be forwarded to interested suppliers via TfL's e-sourcing platform (SAP Ariba).
TfL reserve the right to change our procurement approach.
The engagement process consists of the following key steps:
- Participation in Early Market Engagement - Suppliers who wish to participate should email [email protected] and [email protected]; quoting, "Escalator Machined Parts Framework - Participation" by Wednesday 4th February 2026.
This activity is focusing on the market, rather than the merits of individual suppliers. It includes no element of supplier selection or bid evaluation. There is no commitment of any kind inferred by either party.
- Review and complete the MSQ response by return date of Wednesday 11th February 2026 stated in the MSQ document.
TfL reserve the right to hold 1-2-1s with suppliers following the submission of the MSQs.
We encourage all interested suppliers to take part in this process. Your insights and expertise will be invaluable in shaping our procurement approach.

Commercial outcome & contract awards
Published awards, contracts and bid statistics, not a forecast| Awarded to | Value | Date | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| supplier not published | — | 7 Aug 2026 | CancelledThe primary reasons for this decision were the relatively low annual spend associated with these parts and the low level of demand. Based on this assessment, establishing a dedicated contract was not considered to be the most suitable or proportionate procurement route at this time. |
