Coverage: 23 active published awards; 20 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Cambridge City Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers to deliver a two year electrofishing survey programme across selected Cambridge chalk stream case study reaches in 2027 and 2028. The work forms part of the Cambridge Chalk Stream Project and will cover Hobson’s Brook, Cherry Hinton Brook, Coldham’s Brook / East Cambridge Main Drain and Vicar’s Brook, subject to final agreement of survey reaches, access and permissions.
The appointed provider will deliver fish assemblage surveys, recruitment and habitat interpretation, connectivity assessment, brook lamprey detection methodology and habitat suitability assessment, technical reporting and presentation of findings. Providers must demonstrate electrofishing competence, appropriate qualifications and permissions, fish welfare procedures, biosecurity, safe urban watercourse working, fish ecology expertise and the ability to interpret results within a chalk stream restoration context.
The maximum available contract allocation is £29,500 excluding VAT. Interested providers must respond through the Council procurement portal by the published deadline. All questions must be submitted through the portal.
