        "description": "The wheelchair service will serve the population of Dudley GP registered patients, or who live within the Metropolitan Borough of Dudley if they are not registered with any GP.<br/><br/>Service Users must have a long-term mobility problem, and the wheelchair must not be intended for occasional social use.<br/><br/>Aims and objectives of service:<br/>•\tTo provide comprehensive, all-age wheelchair services to support Service Users with long-term mobility and postural conditions to lead - as far as their condition will allow - healthy, active and independent lives.<br/>•\tTo provide for Service Users’ clinical needs along with consideration of the holistic needs of the Service User, including social, educational, lifestyle and family/carer requirements.<br/>•\tTo achieve Service User-focused goals and/or resolution of problems relating to their mobility and/or equipment.<br/>•\tTo respond to the changing needs of Service Users with maintenance, repair, reassessments and provision of different equipment when this is needed.<br/>•\tTo support Service Users with integration into their local community, enabling access to education and employment and thus benefiting the economy and supporting the shift from treatment to prevention.<br/>•\tTo meet the Quality Standards and “I” statements set out in the Wheelchair Quality Framework.<br/>•\tTo focus on value for money rather than lowest absolute cost.<br/><br/>Further details regarding this requirement can be found in the service specification which is available to download from the documents area within the Atamis project.<br/><br/>Contract length will be for a 3 year period with the Commissioner having the option to extend for up to a further 2 years.<br/><br/>The Commissioner intends to hold an open forum market engagement event via MS Teams on 04th November 2025 at 14:00 – 15:30, with a follow up 30 minute 1:1 sessions being held on 06th November 2025 between 09:00 – 16:30. You will only be invited to a 1:1 session if you have attended the open forum event, to ensure all attendees have access to the same information. Sessions will be scheduled on a first come first served basis. Interested parties should express an interest in attending by completing a short questionnaire which can be found on the Atamis Health Family portal (https://atamis-1928.my.site.com/s/Welcome and search for project C396230. <br/><br/>A link to the event can be accessed via the invitation located within the Documents area of the Atamis project.<br/><br/>Please ensure that you have registered your interest in attending the market engagement event by Monday 03rd November 2025 at 17:00.
