What is being bought
The Domestic Abuse Respite Service (DARS) will provide vulnerable people who are homeless (or at risk of) and suffered domestic abuse or other forms of violence (including VAWG) with intensive, trauma informed support and helped them make choices and decisions around next steps for recovery. The service will provide: • 8 units for single women: The accommodation for the women’s service will be a single gendered service with 8 self-contained units ensuring people have their own private space and facilities to meet their personal needs. Each unit will be fully furnished and will be an aspirational living space. Staff will be situated onsite 24/7. • 2 for single men. The accommodation for men will offer dispersed units with daily visiting support, offsite support will be available 24/7. The accommodation will be self-contained and fully furnished. All DARS units must meet the requirements set out within the Domestic Abuse Act 2021 for safe accommodation and support and meet DLUHC safe accommodation quality standards
