Coverage: 102 active published awards; 9 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
DfT are currently scoping the requirements for a new contract to succeed the current ISP for DfT Estates & Locations (WAN &LAN) Contract which provides maintenance and support of the data networks in most of its central office buildings. This procurement will be for direct, high-performance internet connections at each site. The service will cover the WiFi and LAN connections in each building along with responsibility for monitoring, management and fault fixing for the WiFi and LAN. It will include monitoring and addressing any issues on the internet links supplied under this procurement. The WiFi/LAN and internet connections will be used for Office 365 (including Skype voice and video) access to legacy servers hosted in the cloud and general internet access. Under this procurement we will not be seeking private WAN connections between sites and there is no specific requirement for resilient connections or traffic prioritisation. Resilience will be addressed through one or more separate procurements that will look at sufficient separation of access routes and technology. We do want the connections to provide guaranteed, reliable throughput, even at busy times. We will take responsibility for initial sizing and rely on the WiFi/LAN supplier to monitor and advise on any changes required to the internet connections which would be delivered by contract variations or new procurements.
