Published requirement descriptionThis is a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice, indicating that Defra (on behalf of the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA)) intends to enter into a contract with Integra Biosciences Limited. <br/><br/>The contract will be for the supply of specialist laboratory consumables that work with the ASSIST PLUS pipetting robot, the VIAFLO 96, the WELLJET dispenser and dispenser stacker, and the MINI 96 electronic pipette), along with the service and maintenance of this laboratory equipment.<br/><br/>The value shown on this notice is only an estimate for a total six-year period, as the volume of samples can be unpredictable as work fluctuates. <br/><br/>Defra intends to award this contract following the expiry of a voluntary standstill period, 10 days from the date of publication of this notice.

Based on the information detailed below, the conclusion is that Integra Biosciences Ltd (the Supplier) is the only provider able to supply the required goods and services to APHA.<br/><br/>- The majority of the required specialist consumables contain registered trademarks (including the GRIPTIPS® pipette tips) and they work interchangeably across many of the Supplier's liquid handling solutions, including the Assist Plus, Viaflo and Mini 96 pipette systems. <br/>- Unique features have been identified for the Supplier's equipment, confirming the requirement for bespoke consumables.<br/>- The Supplier does not use third-parties for sales or servicing (they have a direct (internal) sales and technical service group). They have confirmed they do not endorse or supply OEM parts to external entities.<br/>- Research has indicated no other provider that could supply the range of specialist Integra products required.
