Coverage: 22 active published awards; 17 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Price reduction compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Northumbria Police have a need for increased kennelling capacity in order to meet current and predicted demand.
Demand for kennels for dangerous dogs is undoubtedly set to increase as changes in legislation approach, specifically linked to the XL Bully breed. If the legislation is implemented as expected this will place demand beyond the current capacity of our kennel estate.

Procedure rationaleNorthumbria Police have an urgent requirement to increase their current dog kennelling capacity. The Force has approached all North East dog kennels to check their capacity and to compare costs. All dog kennels, with exception to one, have confirmed that they have no additional capacity to host dangerous dogs. The Force has approached the only supplier who confirmed they have capacity.
The Force will undergo a standstill period as part of voluntary ex ante transparency notice.
To protect the supplier and their premises the Force will not announce in the public domain their name or address |
