To provide the continuation of Civil Engineering Services for the development and delivery of a new build Challenging Behaviour Unit within the Swansea Bay University Health Board estate. WSP UK Limited are an awarded provider on the Health Board’s Consultants and Contractors Framework Agreement for work costs up to 2 million pound, following a competitive tender process in 2023.
The Dan y Deri project has exceeded this financial threshold and therefore, it is imperative that WSP UK Limited are appointed via an alternative route to ensure business continuity, retention of specialist knowledge, and avoid any duplication of effort and mobilisation costs, representing value for money.
Utilisation of the SBS framework has allowed the Dan Y Deri Challenging Behaviour Unit scheme to be costed appropriately and has provided assurance that the project can be delivered on a timely basis, which will allow realisation of clinical efficiencies and patient benefits.
