Published requirement descriptionThe provision of residential care and accommodation is required to meet the full range of needs, including challenging behaviour, of looked after children and young people, this includes 16+; young people who are particularly vulnerable because of mental health needs which fall just below the threshold for mental health services or secure welfare; at risk of child sexual exploitation, trafficking and /or radicalisation and criminalisation; children with learning difficulty such as mild ASD and those with specific cultural needs.

Using Children’s Residential Placements framework OJEU reference number 2018/S 041-089987, The Isle of Wight Council are direct awarding to Island Choices for the Block contract of 7 Childrens residential care beds.
The justification for the direct award is due to Island Choices being the only approved framework provider established within the geographical location on the Isle of Wight.
After this initial 12 month contract the Isle of Wight Council will conduct a further competition through the same framework (OJEU reference number 2018/S 041-089987) for the provision of the services.

The authority shall carry out a ten day standstill period which is due to expire at Midnight 22 February 2023.
