    Notice of abandonment Blackpool Council on behalf of Blackpool Airport Operations Limited had sought to enter into a contract for the provision of terminal air navigation services and air traffic engineering services by a licensed Air Navigation Service Provider and for a contract for the operational management of the Airport by a suitably qualified operator In reference to the procurement for the provision of Air Navigation System & Aerodrome Management Services to Blackpool Airport which was originally advertised on the Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) via a contract notice (ref: 2019/S 160-394637) dated 21 August 2019. The decision has been taken not to proceed with this procurement. Having carefully re-evaluated its position, Blackpool Airport Operations Limited has decided, in the interest of long-term financial sustainability, to opt for an integrated solution pursuant to which it will maintain direct control over all aspects of its management and have full flexibility in relation to its approach to delivering on its strategic goals and reacting to changing market conditions. Consequently, the Council has decided to discontinue this procurement exercise and does not currently intend to commence any new procurement process concerning these services.
