Lot 1

The University is looking to establish a facility for use by internal and external users (both academic and industrial) for X-ray absorption spectroscopy, with a specific focus on catalysis and energy materials. We are looking to purchase a lab based Rowland-circle spectrometer system for transmission-mode XAFS operations at 5 - 12 keV, with a minimum 1.2 kW x-ray tube source, and evidence of being able to perform XANES and EXAFS in academic use case application such as energy materials (batteries) and heterogeneous catalysis, including appropriate power supplies, analysers (spherically bent crystals) and detectors (SSD type). The instrument is to be housed in facility including equipment for catalysis studies and energy materials applications. Comparable-procurement analytics

Benchmarked against retained Find a Tender procedures with CPV division 38. The category anchor is Spectrometers (38433000); this is a deliberately broad market comparator. The comparison is shown at several levels rather than pretending one company or region is always the best benchmark.

“Reported bids” is an official aggregate, sometimes reported per lot; it is the closest available competition measure. “Named award suppliers” are winners, not all applicants.

Price-outcome signal

Not enough comparable procedures currently publish both a GBP tender value and a usable lowest-valid-bid value to calculate a responsible price-reduction benchmark. Tenderline deliberately does not infer a saving from named award suppliers or from missing award values.
