Official UK procurement notice
Vehicle Components Testing Framework
Authority: Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (Central government)
What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) Vehicle and Component Testing Services Framework.
DVSA is the Market Surveillance Authority for automotive products in Great Britain. It ensures that vehicles and automotive products placed on the market are monitored and have been designed and manufactured in accordance with type approval requirements.
DVSA’s Market Surveillance Unit has annual work programmes to undertake testing of vehicles and components placed on the market against the original approval standards to ensure they are and remain compliant. DVSA requires suppliers to deliver testing requirements, such as emission testing, noise testing, tyre testing, etc. Please see technical specification for more information.
DVSA will use the framework to issue call-off competitions to the appointed suppliers who can then bid in line with the process set out in the Call-Off award procedure.
- Not divided into lots: The framework has not been divided into lots, as doing so would introduce unnecessary complexity and hinder effective management. This consolidated approach ensures a streamlined process for all participating suppliers.
- The authority expects to re-tender this requirement around 7 Jan 2030, 23:59 GMT.

- “Vehicle Components Testing Framework” is a framework: the contest is a place on its panel, not a single contract: each call-off is a further competition, so the pricing contest starts after appointment.
