market place as PaLS are commencing work for a regional tender for an automated particle

analyser to support diagnostic services across all 5 Health and Social Care Northern

Ireland(HSCNI) trusts.

This preliminary market engagement notice is for an automated particle analysers that will

identify, classify and quantify various particles in urine in order to reduce the need for manual

microscopic review, screen out negative samples and allow for earlier reporting. This

procurement is being considered in response to diagnostic demand, the need for greater

efficiency, and the desire to adopt more consistent and automated approaches to laboratory

testing.

The purpose of this market engagement is to: gain greater knowledge and understanding of
