Coverage: 1 active published awards; 1 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
Over the course of 12 months – completion of full integrated design, first generation drivetrain installed and demonstration of the train in Scotland off Network Rail infrastructure in rail yard and on Bo'Ness and Kinneil heritage railway line, or moved elsewhere. This will allow an assessment to be undertaken that any modifications do not present risks to the operational railway. During this time, if the requirements are that it will eventually run on Network Rail infrastructure, this can be stage 3 of the project as this will be a project in its own right.
