Why no open competition: The works, supplies or services can be provided only by a particular economic operator due to absence of competition for technical reasons
Published justification: ASTeC already has three of these systems installed in our Radiation Test Facilities complex all, designed, manufactured and installed by Airgonomics ltd. It is essential that the additional shielding doors are of the same design and utilise the same air bearings, infrastructure and controls functionality & architecture (Specific Programmable logic controller and safety systems) as the existing doors. Only Airgonomics ltd are able to do as the detailed design & specification is their proprietary information.
