Coverage: 13 active published awards; 0 bid reports (which may be per lot). Supplier values exclude multi-supplier awards, frameworks and DPS, and use GBP only. They are published award values, not payments. Published-to-award variance compares single-lot, single-award, single-supplier GBP procedures with explicitly non-framework/non-DPS status; increases remain in the average. Unpublished data stays unknown. Awarded suppliers are winners, not all bidders.

What is being bought
TPE operates a fleet of twelve Class 397 electric multiple units. These units were built by CAF and operate inter-city services on the west coast mainline. The units will be due for their first overhaul from spring-2024 (current assumption but this may change and an invitation for expressions of interest was previously issued which that commencement date was expected to be mid-2023) and will require certain modifications to be performed by the OEM. TPE is now seeking expressions of interest from high quality maintenance performers for the provision of the works.

TPE has arrangements in place with CAF for the supply of all parts required for the overhaul and requires a supplier with vehicle jacking facilities and 25Kv overhead lines to undertake the component replacement. A major element of the works will be bogie exchange but other components also require replacement. TPE will be seeking project management services from the supplier and will expect the supplier to author work instructions based upon the basic overhaul instructions supplied by CAF. In addition, TPE will be seeking, as an option, covered accommodation for the units to undergo modification to anti-roll bar and yaw damper brackets. This work will be performed by the OEM. The supplier must be competent in electrical, mechanical and bodyshell systems.
