What is being bought
Published requirement descriptionThe purpose of this Contract is to provide Timber Harvesting and Extraction Services. These services will assist FLS in achieving the targets for the management of the SNFL: production of timber for sales; felling trees for tree health purposes and notified Statutory Plant Health Notices (SPHNs); and, felling in preparation for peatland restoration. These services are required across the West region of SNFL.

Extreme urgency brought about by events unforeseeable for the contracting authority/entity and in accordance with the strict conditions stated in the directive

FLS has a committed sales target which cannot be completed without this work being undertaken. The delivery of this requirement is beyond the production capacity of FLS's internal direct production and existing harvesting contract. The supplier being awarded this contract has capacity to carry out the work and can start in line with these timescales, and this represents the best option to allow FLS to increase production at short notice.
