What is being bought
This PIN is intended to give the supply chain the opportunity to register their interest in attending a Market Sounding Event, to be held on 22nd Feb. at 09:00 over Microsoft Teams, where SL will present an outline of the procurement including their initial view of the building requirements, the potential procurement and contracting strategies. Following the presentation by SL the participants will have the opportunity to participate in a Q&A session.<br/><br/>Following the Market Sounding Event it is the intent the SL will initiate a Technical Dialogue process where we will seek input from the Supply Chain to support the development of the procurement and contracting strategies.

    The Sample Management Capability (SMC) is a design and build project for a new analytical facility to screen and process Low Active (LA) and Very Low Active (VLA) samples prior to dispatch into the supply chain for further analysis, where the SMC facility is required to be operational as soon as is reasonably practicable.<br/><br/>The facility will be required to provide the following capabilities: to receive samples; bulking, sub-sampling, screening and preparation; analysis of quick turnaround samples, waste handling and disposal; sample storage, packaging and dispatch; and emergency response. <br/><br/>The initial assumption is that the building gross floor area will be less than 1,000m2 and the scope may include the following:<br/><br/>• Building Fabric (Modular Building)<br/>• All internal fit out<br/>• Provision of laboratory equipment e.g.<br/>• 10-12 Fume Cupboards<br/>• C3 Extract Ventilation System<br/>• Whole building HVAC – Air Source Heat Pumps<br/>• Laboratory analysis equipment<br/>• Acidity, Alkalinity, pH, Iron, Alpha, Beta, Gamma<br/>• All internal building services up to connection points<br/>• Integration of existing site Labware Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)<br/>• Changerooms and welfare facilities<br/>• Sample and consumables storage<br/>• Sample import / export facilities<br/>• Waste dispatch facilities.
